Find ways to keep busy during the winter months in Milwaukee

Ready to shed your extra winter padding? Milwaukees upcoming summer runs, walks and bike rides for charity are a great motivator for getting back into your fitness routine. Start now and youll be in great shape to make some money for some worthy organizations when the warm weather hits. Many of these events will lead you right to the lakefront festival du jour, while others take participants off the beaten trail to enjoy the scenery outside the city.

The vagaries of this winters weather has already caused some monster potholes to appear on Milwaukees streets. While city crews always work diligently to fill in the most offensive, theres a good chance they may overlook that monster hole you hit every day on the way to work. Let the Department of Public Works know about it!

Call the DPW Service Center hotline at 414.286.8282, or visit their Service Request Site to report anything from giant potholes, to standing water, to tree roots buckling your front walk. This system really works. Ive used it myself to report potholes, and to ask for tree trimming services and new garbage bins, and the requested services have always been completed. Use it!

Lockers Florist and Ultimate Confections have teamed up to save the day for Milwaukees Valentines slackers. From 1 - 8 p.m. on Monday, February 13 and 6 - 8 p.m.
